Us, that is Sebastian, Sarah, and little Luise. We used to live in Göttingen, Germany and work in academia. However, when Sebastian found a new job in Vienna and Sarah took over a larger proportion of childcare, we wanted to find a good solution for our finances. We decided to view Sebastians income as a family income, and share all income and expenses equally. Thereby, we actively counteract the paygap that is often induced by childcare responsibilities which affects women overproportionally.
